Tritlington Early Years…’a highly effective early years provision.’ – Ofsted 2019

Children move into Reception class after being in Nursery, where they continue to access our Early Years Foundation Stage to ensure that they are ready for their next steps in education.

Throughout their time in our Early Years provision, our children are supported to be happy, safe and cared for.  As a result of the well-planned, effectively delivered, exciting and engaging learning opportunities, our children leave EYFS ready for key stage 1!

We are proud of the strong partnerships we have with parents and carers: together we ensure your child has the best start to let their individual light shine.

We provide an environment where children can learn effectively through:  Active investigation, Enquiry and First-hand experiences.

In our recent Ofsted inspection our Early Years provision was graded as Good.
‘The early year’s classroom is vibrant, exciting and well resourced. Children working inside the classroom and those working outdoors are engrossed in their learning. This is because curriculum activities are planned to meet children’s needs and interests.’ Ofsted April 2019

EYFS Framework
The areas of learning within the framework are:
Prime Areas
Personal, social and emotional development
Communication and language
Physical development
Specific Areas
Literacy
Mathematics
Understanding the world
Expressive arts and design
Further information on the framework and these areas of learning can be found using this link.

We plan from the EYFS framework on a weekly basis to ensure your child is provided with a broad and balanced curriculum.  Children through a combination of short adult led activities and child initiated activities. The children have daily phonic, literacy and maths sessions which follow the ethos of learning through play.  The indoor and outdoor areas are resourced with materials to develop skills and learning. The children learn through playing and exploring, being active and by creative and critical thinking. We work hard to ensure that the curriculum is interesting and exciting and that children are nurtured to become lifelong learners. The children are encouraged to take risks in their learning, have a go at new activities, to try their best and let their individual lights shine.
